Hey,

I started coding this tag to answer a question posted on this page


It is a custom bbcode tag that will allow you to insert a link into your post for direct download. You have the freedom to customize the appearance as you wish. Very simple HTML code and PHP code.

Lets begin:

First create a new file into your forum root and name it "download.php" without quotes. Post the following code into the file you just created

Save the file then go to AdminCP > Custom BB Codes > Add new BB code

BB Code Tag Name:
Code:
DL
Replacement:
Code:
{option}









Example:
Code:
[DL="DOWNLOAD/FILE/URL/LOCATION.EXT"]FILE_NAME.EXT[/DL]
Description:
Code:
This tag will enable you to set direct download links for files you would like to post.

To use all you have to do is follow the example

[DL="http://www.domain.com/music/song.mp3"]Song_Title_No_Spaces.mp3[/DL]

Note that the song title as you write it MUST not have any spaces and MUST have the extension in the end.

These small fixes will be included in the next version.
